Claim: Dementia resident developed severe UTI that went untreated, leading to sepsis, and a stage 3 sacral pressure ulcer. Resident quickly declined and passed away as a result of the infections.
Assisted Living Facility – Burleson, TX
Claim: Resident, who was blind, suffered multiple falls in the facility. The final fall resulted in a fractured hip and femur, requiring surgical repair. Resident declined and passed away as a result of the fall and hip fracture.
Skilled Nursing Facility – Houston, TX
Claim: Dementia resident was not closely monitored, developed several wounds, and was found in room unresponsive. Discovered to sepsis secondary to severe UTI and acute dehydration. Resident passed within a few days from the infection.
